Default paraphrase

I have watched the lesson. This is my paraphrase of it:

God is present today in His Word. He and His Word never change. It is us who have to change. We must listen and obey the Word - to transform our lives.
John the Baptist was fulfillment of the Law. Jesus was fulfillment of Mercy and Grace.
The law is rigid; break it you will be punished and by the world.
With God/Jesus - you break the law and you are forgiven.

When you start speaking the love message, people will say there is more to God than that. If I have been instructed by the Word, I cannot throw a rock at anyone.

Only the poor people appreciate the sermon on the mount cause they have nothing. It is the rich people of the world that have a problem with it. Wealthy people tend to be selfish, for love means to share and give away what one covets.

John the Baptist was the greatest of all men, for he made straight the way of the Lord. We are greater than John when we ECHO the love of God. We confess and do the gospel. You keep doing it until you decide you will keep it or not - that being GOD'S WILL.

Love is sacrifice - committment. It is not a feeling or emotion. We must prefer God first, then He will show us how to love our family and others. Love believes all things, it is not against anything. "Unless you're willing to give up everything, you are not going to be a disciple of Jesus." If you are not willing to deny everything in your life including yourself, you will never be able to preach the gospel. No on will preach for you to love your enemy.
WHY?
Because they have acquired great wealth and will not deny it for the gospel.

We thank the Lord for the Law, for it shows us we need Grace. Amen!
